యెహోషువ ఆ ధర్మశాస్త్ర గ్రంథంలో రాసి ఉన్న వాటన్నిటిని బట్టి ఆ ధర్మశాస్త్ర వాక్యాలన్నిటినీ అంటే దాని దీవెన వచనాలనూ దాని శాప వచనాలనూ చదివి వినిపించాడు. స్త్రీలూ పిల్లలూ వారి మధ్య ఉన్న పరదేశులూ వింటూ ఉండగా
