శాపానికి గురైన దాన్ని నాశనం చేసే విషయంలో ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు అపనమ్మకంగా ప్రవర్తించారు. యూదాగోత్రంలో జెరహు మునిమనుమడు, జబ్ది మనుమడు, కర్మీ కుమారుడు, ఆకాను నాశనం చేయాల్సిన వస్తువుల్లో కొన్నిటిని సొంతానికి తీసుకున్నాడు. కాబట్టి యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మీద కోపగించాడు.
