När de kom tillbaka till Josua sade de till honom: ”Hela folket behöver inte dra upp. Låt tvåtusen eller tretusen gå dit upp och inta Ai. Du behöver inte låta allt folket trötta ut sig med att gå dit, för de är inte många.”
