Te dien tijde deed Jozua deze eed: Vervloekt voor het aangezicht des Heren is de man, die zich opmaakt en deze stad Jericho herbouwt; ten koste van zijn eerstgeborene zal hij haar grondvesten, ten koste van zijn jongste haar poortdeuren inzetten.
