Eğer Yahve'ye hizmet etmek size kötü geliyorsa, kime hizmet edeceğinizi bugün seçin; atalarınızın hizmet ettiği, Irmak'ın ötesindeki ilâhlara mı, yoksa diyarında oturduğunuz Amorlular'ın ilâhlarına mı; ama ben ve ev halkım Yahve'ye hizmet edeceğiz.”
