เพราะเป็นมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์​ที่​ทรงให้เขามีใจแข็งกระด้างเข้าต่อสู้ทำสงครามกับอิสราเอล เพื่อพระองค์จะได้ทรงทำลายเขาเสียสิ้น และเขาไม่​ได้​รับความกรุณา ​แต่​​พระองค์​ต้องทำลายล้างเขาเสียสิ้น ​ดังที่​พระเยโฮวาห์บัญชาไว้กับโมเสส
