Josua 11:20

För det var Herrens (Jahvehs) avsikt att förhärda deras hjärtan och komma mot Israel i strid för att de i grunden skulle förgöras. De hade ingen nåd (oförtjänt kärlek; favör) utan de skulle fördärvas som Herren (Jahveh) befallt Mose.

For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
