โยชู​วาก​็​ตีแผ่​นดินนั้นให้​พ่ายแพ้​ไปหมด คือแดนเทือกเขา ในภาคใต้ ในหุบเขา และที่​ลาด​ ทั้งกษั​ตริ​ย์ทั้งหมดของเมืองเหล่านั้นด้วย ท่านไม่​ให้​เหลือสักคนเดียว ​แต่​​ได้​ทำลายทุกสิ่งที่หายใจเสีย ​ดังที่​พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของคนอิสราเอลได้ทรงบัญชาไว้

¶ So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.
