Ibinigay din ni Yahweh ito sa kamay ng Israel—kasama ang kanilang hari. Sinalakay ni Josue ang bawat nabubuhay na nilalang sa loob nito gamit ag espada. Wala siyang iniwang nakaligtas na buhay sa loob nito. Ginawa niya sa hari gaya ng ginawa niya sa hari ng Jerico.
