Toen zonden de mannen van Gibeon tot Jozua, naar de legerplaats te Gilgal, deze boodschap: Trek uw hand niet van uw knechten af, ruk haastig tot ons op, verlos ons en help ons, want alle koningen der Amorieten, die op het gebergte wonen, hebben zich tegen ons verzameld.
