इसी कारण मूसा ने तुम्हें खतने की आज्ञा दी है, यह नहीं कि वह मूसा की ओर से है परन्तु पूर्वजों से चली आई है, और तुम सब्त के दिन को मनुष्य का खतना करते हो। (उत्प. 17:10-13, लैव्य. 12:3)

Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
