Vielä seuraavana aamunakin ihmisiä oli koolla sillä paikalla, missä Jeesus oli antanut heille ruokaa. Tiedettiin näet, että Jeesus ja hänen oppilaansa olivat ensin yhdessä saapuneet sinne, ja että vain oppilaat olivat edellisenä iltana astuneet veneeseen. Muutamia Tiberiaasta tulleita veneitä oli lähistöllä.
