​เหตุ​ฉะนั้นคำที่​ว่า​ สาวกคนนั้นจะไม่​ตาย​ จึงลือไปท่ามกลางพวกพี่​น้อง​ ​แต่​​พระเยซู​​มิได้​ตรัสแก่เขาว่า “สาวกคนนั้นจะไม่​ตาย​” ​แต่​ตรั​สว​่า “ถ้าเราอยากจะให้เขาอยู่จนเรามานั้น จะเป็นเรื่องอะไรของท่านเล่า”

Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?
