యోహాను ఆయనను గురించి పెద్ద స్వరంతో ఇలా సాక్ష్యం చెప్పాడు, “నా వెనుక వచ్చేవాడు నాకు ముందే ఉన్నవాడు కాబట్టి ఆయన నాకంటే గొప్పవాడు, అంటూ నేను ఎవరిని గురించి చెప్పానో ఆయనే ఈయన.”

¶ John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
