Bunun üzerine Yahudiler, Hazırlık Günü olması nedeniyle, cesetlerin Şabat'da çarmıhta kalmasını istemiyorlardı. Pilatus’tan çarmıha gerilenlerin bacaklarının kırılmasını ve cesetlerinin kaldırılmasını istediler. Çünkü o Şabat büyük olanıydı.
