இவைகளுக்குப் பின்பு அரிமத்தியா ஊரானும், யூதர்களுக்குப் பயந்ததினால் இயேசுவிற்கு அந்தரங்க சீடனுமாகிய யோசேப்பு இயேசுவின் சரீரத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போகும்படி பிலாத்துவினிடத்தில் உத்தரவு கேட்டான்; பிலாத்து உத்தரவு கொடுத்தான். ஆகவே, அவன் வந்து, இயேசுவின் சரீரத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போனான்.

¶ And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
