படைவீரர்கள் இயேசுவைச் சிலுவையில் அறைந்தபின்பு, அவருடைய ஆடைகளை எடுத்து, ஒவ்வொரு படைவீரனுக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு பாகமாக நான்கு பாகமாக்கினார்கள்; மேல் அங்கியையும் எடுத்தார்கள், அந்த மேல் அங்கி, தையலில்லாமல் மேலே தொடங்கி முழுவதும் நெய்யப்பட்டதாக இருந்தது.

¶ Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
