Medan jag var tillsammans med dem i världen bevarade (skyddade) jag dem i ditt namn [i kunskap och tillbedjan till dig]. De som du gett till mig bevarade (skyddade) jag, och ingen av dem gick förlorad utom fördärvets man [Judas Iskariot], för att Skriften skulle gå i uppfyllelse [Ps 109:8].

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
