ஆனாலும் அதிகாரிகளிலும் அநேகர் அவரிடம் விசுவாசம் வைத்தார்கள். அப்படியிருந்தும் ஜெப ஆலயத்தைவிட்டு வெளியேற்றப்படாமல் இருக்க, பரிசேயர்களுக்கு பயந்து அதை அறிக்கைசெய்யாமலும் இருந்தார்கள்.

¶ Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
