बाबेल यहोवा के हाथ में सोने का कटोरा था, जिससे सारी पृथ्वी के लोग मतवाले होते थे; जाति-जाति के लोगों ने उसके दाखमधु में से पिया, इस कारण वे भी बावले हो गए। (प्रका. 14:8, प्रका. 17:2-4, प्रका. 18:3)

Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’s hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
