దమస్కు ఎంతో బలహీనంగా ఉంది. పారిపోడానికి అది వెనక్కు తిరిగింది. దాన్ని భయం పట్టుకుంది. నిస్పృహ దాన్ని ఆవరించింది. ప్రసవించే స్త్రీ పడే వేదన వంటి వేదన దానికి కలిగింది.”

Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
