Giô-ha-nan, con trai Ca-rê-át, bèn nói kín cùng Ghê-đa-lia tại Mích-ba rằng: Xin cho tôi đi, tôi sẽ giết ỗch-ma-ên, con trai Nê-tha-nia, mà không ai biết hết. Làm sao để nó cất lấy mạng sống ông, hầu cho mọi người Giu-đa nhóm họp xung quanh ông sẽ tan lạc, và dân sót của Giu-đa chết mất?
