Jeremia 38:16

I hemlighet gav då kung Sidkia sin ed till Jeremia och sade: ”Så sant Herren lever, han som har gett oss livet: Jag ska inte låta döda dig och inte heller utlämna dig åt dem som vill ta ditt liv.”

So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.
