Toen zeide Jeremias tot Sedekias: Zo spreekt Jahweh, de God der heirscharen, Israëls God! Wanneer gij u onverwijld naar de aanvoerders van den koning van Babel begeeft, zal uw leven blijven gespaard, en deze stad niet in vlammen opgaan; gij met uw gezin zult het leven behouden.
