พระเยโฮวาห์ตรั​สด​ังนี้​ว่า​ “จงเขียนลงว่าชายคนนี้​ไม่มี​​บุตร​ เป็นชายซึ่งไม่เจริญขึ้นในชั่วชีวิตของเขา เพราะไม่​มี​คนแห่งเชื้อสายของเขาสักคนหนึ่งที่จะเจริญขึ้น ในการประทับบนพระที่นั่งของดาวิด และปกครองในยูดาห์​อีก​”

Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
