கிதியோன் எப்பிராயீம் மலைகள் எங்கும் ஆட்களை அனுப்பி: மீதியானியர்களுக்கு எதிராக இறங்கி, பெத்தாபரா இருக்கும் யோர்தான் நதி வரை வந்து, அவர்களுக்கு முந்தித் துறைமுகங்களைக் கைப்பற்றிக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்; அப்படியே எப்பிராயீமின் மனிதர்கள் எல்லோரும் கூடி, பெத்தாபரா இருக்கும் யோர்தான் வரை வந்து, துறைமுகங்களைக் கைப்பற்றிக்கொண்டு,

¶ And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Beth-barah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto Beth-barah and Jordan.
