Och Herren (Jahveh) sa till Gideon: ”Folket är fortfarande för många, för ner dem till vattnet och jag ska pröva dem åt dig där. Och det ska vara så att om dem som jag säger: ’De ska gå med dig’, de ska gå med dig och dem om vilka jag säger att: ’De ska inte gå med dig’, de ska inte gå med dig.”
