તેથી ગિદિયોન તથા તેની સાથે સો પુરુષો અડધી રાત્રે છાવણીના છેવાડા ભાગ આગળ આવ્યા. તે વખતે માત્ર થોડી જ વાર ઉપર નવો પહેરો ગોઠવ્યો હતો. તેઓએ રણશિંગડાં વગાડીને પોતાના હાથમાંના ઘડા ફોડ્યા.

¶ So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands.
