അവൻ അമ്മോന്യരെയും അമാലേക്യരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനെ തോല്പിച്ചു, അവർ ഈന്തപട്ടണവും കൈവശമാക്കി.
