ന്യായാധിപന്മാർ 21:22

അവരുടെ അപ്പന്മാരോ ആങ്ങളമാരോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു സങ്കടം പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അവരോടു: അവരെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ദാനം ചെയ്‌വിൻ; നാം പടയിൽ അവർക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും ഭാര്യമാരെ പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്നില്ല; നിങ്ങൾ കുറ്റക്കാരാകുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഇക്കാലത്തു അവർക്കു കൊടുത്തിട്ടും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കൊള്ളാം.

And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be guilty.
