అప్పుడు ఆ ఐదుగురు మనుష్యులు వెళ్లి లాయిషుకు వచ్చారు. అక్కడ జనం, సీదోనీయుల్లా భద్రంగా, నిర్భయంగా నివసించడం చూశారు. ఆ దేశాన్ని ఆక్రమించుకుని అధికారం చెలాయించేవాళ్ళు గానీ, బాధలు పెట్టేవాళ్ళు గానీ లేకపోవడం చూసారు. వాళ్ళు సీదోనీయులకు దూరంగా నివసించడమూ, వాళ్ళకు ఎవరితోనూ ఎలాంటి సంబంధాలు లేకపోవడమూ చూశారు.

¶ Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man.
