​มี​คนไปบอกชาวกาซาว่า “แซมสันมาที่​นี่​​แล้ว​” เขาก็ล้อมที่นั้นไว้และคอยซุ่​มท​ี่​ประตู​เมืองตลอดคืน เขาซุ่มเงียบอยู่คืนยังรุ่งกล่าวว่า “​ให้​เรารออยู่จนรุ่งเช้าแล้วเราจะฆ่าเขาเสีย”
