ન્યાયાધીશો 12:6

તો તેઓ તેને એવું કહેત કે, “શિબ્બોલેથ’ બોલ.” અને જો તે “શિબ્બોલેથ,” બોલે તો તે ઓળખાઈ જાય કેમ કે તે આ શબ્દોનો યોગ્ય ઉચ્ચાર કરી શકતો ન હતો. તેથી ગિલ્યાદીઓ તેને પકડી અને તેને યર્દનનાં કિનારે મારી નાખત. તે સમયે બેતાળીસ હજાર એફ્રાઇમીઓને મારી નાખવામાં આવ્યા.

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
