యెఫ్తా మిస్పాలో ఉన్న తన ఇంటికి వచ్చినప్పుడు అతని కూతురు తంబురలతో నాట్యంతో బయలుదేరి అతనికి ఎదురొచ్చింది. ఆమె తప్ప అతనికి మగ సంతానమేగాని ఆడసంతానమేగాని లేదు.

¶ And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter.
