அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எஸ்போனில் ஆளுகிற சீகோன் என்னும் எமோரியர்களின் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்கு தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பி: நாங்கள் உன்னுடைய தேசத்தின் வழியாக எங்களுடைய இடத்திற்கு கடந்துபோக இடங்கொடு என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னார்கள்.

And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said unto him, Let us pass, we pray thee, through thy land into my place.
