Toen zond Israël boden naar Sichon, de koning der Amorieten, de koning van Chesbon, en Israël zeide tot hem: Laat mij toch door uw land trekken naar de plaats van mijn bestemming.

And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said unto him, Let us pass, we pray thee, through thy land into my place.
