அப்பொழுது யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் கோபமடைந்து, அவர்களைப் பெலிஸ்தர்கள் கையிலும், அம்மோனியர்களின் கையிலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
