ท่านเอลียาห์​ก็​เป็นมนุษย์​ที่​​มี​สภาพอารมณ์เช่นเดียวกับเราทั้งหลาย และท่านได้อธิษฐานอย่างจริงจังเพื่อไม่​ให้​​ฝนตก​ และฝนก็​ไม่​ตกต้องแผ่นดินเป็นเวลาถึงสามปีกับหกเดือน

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
