Jakobus 5:12

Vor allen Dingen aber, meine Brüder, schwöret nicht, weder bei dem Himmel noch bei der Erde noch mit einem andern Eid. Es sei aber euer Wort: Ja, das Ja ist; und: Nein, das Nein ist, auf daß ihr nicht unter das Gericht fallet.

But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
