Därför, som eldens tunga slukar stubben (det torra gräset) och som agnarna slukas i flammorna, så ska deras rot bli rutten och deras blomning ska flyga bort som damm (gå upp i rök), eftersom de har förkastat Härskarornas Herres (Jahveh Sebaots) undervisning (hebr. Torah) och föraktat Israels Heliges löftesord.
