Ja, Herren ska trösta Sion [tempelberget i Jerusalem], han ska trösta alla hennes ruiner. Han ska göra hennes öken lik Eden, hennes ödemark som Herrens (Jahvehs) trädgård. Fröjd och glädje ska höras där inne, tacksägelse och melodistämma (sång ackompanjerad med instrument).
