రాజమార్గాలు నిర్మానుష్యమై పోయాయి. వాటి మీద ప్రయాణీకులు ఎవ్వరూ లేరు. సంధి ఒప్పందాలను ఉల్లంఘించారు. సాక్షులను అలక్ష్యం చేశారు. పట్టణాలను అవమానపరిచారు.

The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
