Inilah pesan TUHAN tentang rombongan duta yang melintasi padang belantara Negeb di wilayah selatan Yehuda: Dengan keledai dan unta bermuatan harta benda, para pembesar dari Yehuda pergi ke negeri Mesir, melewati jalan yang sukar dan berat, melalui sarang singa dan ular berbisa, sambil mengangkut persembahan yang mahal-mahal. Susah payah mereka akan sia-sia saja, karena mereka pergi kepada bangsa yang tidak mampu membantu.
