ฝ่ายพระเจ้าเมื่อพระองค์ทรงหมายพระทัยจะสำแดงให้​ผู้​​ที่​รับคำทรงสัญญานั้นเป็นมรดกรู้​ให้​​แน่​ใจยิ่งขึ้​นว​่า พระดำริของพระองค์จะแปรปรวนไม่​ได้​ ​พระองค์​จึงได้ทรงให้คำปฏิญาณไว้​ด้วย​
