โดยความเชื่อ ท่านได้พำนักในแผ่นดินแห่งพระสัญญานั้น เหมือนอยู่ในดินแดนแปลกถิ่น คืออาศัยอยู่ในเต็นท์กับอิสอัคและยาโคบซึ่งเป็นทายาทด้วยกั​นก​ั​บท​่านในพระสัญญาอันเดียวกันนั้น
