โดยความเชื่อ เมื่อพระเจ้าทรงเตือนโนอาห์ถึงเหตุ​การณ์​​ที่​ยังไม่​ปรากฏ​ ท่านมีใจเกรงกลัวจัดแจงต่อนาวา เพื่อช่วยครอบครัวของท่านให้​รอด​ และด้วยเหตุ​นี้​​เอง​ ท่านจึงได้ปรับโทษแก่​โลก​ และได้เป็นทายาทแห่งความชอบธรรม ซึ่​งบ​ังเกิดมาจากความเชื่อ

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
