దేవుడు అబ్రాహామును పిలిచినప్పుడు అతడు విశ్వాసాన్ని బట్టి ఆ పిలుపుకు విధేయత చూపాడు. తాను వారసత్వంగా పొందబోయే స్థలానికి ప్రయాణమై వెళ్ళాడు. తాను ఎక్కడికి వెళ్ళాలో తెలియకుండానే ప్రయాణం అయ్యాడు.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
