ஆதியாகமம் 7:4

இன்னும் ஏழுநாட்கள் சென்றபின்பு, 40 நாட்கள் இரவும் பகலும் பூமியின்மேல் மழையைப் பெய்யச்செய்து, நான் உண்டாக்கின உயிரினங்கள் அனைத்தையும் பூமியின்மேல் இல்லாமல் அழித்துப்போடுவேன்” என்றார்.

For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
