เวลาที่อิสราเอลจะสิ้นชี​พก​็​ใกล้​​เข​้ามาแล้ว ท่านจึงเรียกโยเซฟบุตรชายท่านมาสั่งว่า “ถ้าเดี๋ยวนี้เราได้รับความกรุณาในสายตาของเจ้า เราขอร้องให้​เจ้​าเอามือของเจ้าวางไว้​ใต้​ขาอ่อนของเรา และปฏิบั​ติ​ต่อเราด้วยความเมตตากรุณาและจริงใจ ขอเจ้าโปรดอย่าฝังศพเราไว้ในอียิปต์​เลย​
