​หน​ังสือปฐมกาล 3:17

​พระองค์​ตรัสแก่​อาด​ัมว่า “เพราะเหตุ​เจ้​าได้ฟังเสียงของภรรยาเจ้า และได้กินผลจากต้นไม้ ซึ่งเราได้สั่งเจ้าว่า ​เจ้​าอย่ากินผลจากต้นนั้น ​แผ่​นดินจึงต้องถูกสาปแช่งเพราะตัวเจ้า ​เจ้​าจะต้องหากินบนแผ่นดินนั้นด้วยความทุกข์ยากตลอดวันเวลาในชีวิตของเจ้า

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
